New code in CVS! I hope this fixes all problems. The release tag was
correspondingly moved forward. I'll build a new distro snapshot later
tonight and put it on the download site.

It is just a difference in the shells (expansion + word splitting).
The purpose of IFS for application to shell variables is well
understood, but its possible interaction with the very process of
parsing the script is not entirely clear. I guess this is one point
where our shells are at variance.
