Denys:

% Welcome to the team! (it's not like we're likely to say no to
% someone who _volunteers_ to help - although we may
% (privately) question your sanity :-)

As a married man, I'm used to such doubts...

% Kostja is in charge of drawing the battleplan, so I'll defer
% to him on the modalities of your involvement. General
% guidelines would be: tell us what bug you want to work on,
% post reports as you go so that others may help and Kostja has
% the information to update his plans, post diffs against CVS
% trunk. Help squash other bugs. Help with whatever Windows
% tasks need to be done.

Now that I have in my office (as of today!) a Windows XP, Windows 2000 *AND*
a Red Had Linux 9 box all hooked up to the network, another thing I can help
test is the interaction between distributed Oz functors - basically, give
the distribution subsystem a workout, with a special emphasis on Windows
behavior in that context. Plus, for Linux (so far) I also have the Intel
compiler and Vtune, and I'm going to be writing reviews for them in Linux
Mag; so I thought maybe I'd play with compiling Mozart using the Intel
compiler and see how that goes. But that seems like a non-trivial affair,
even if the compiler exposes some potentially nifty "direct from the
manufacturer" optimization techniques that may prove useful on the x86
platform.

% Perhaps, a _brief_ synopsis of the DLL issue and your
% findings so far would be helpful.

I will submit a formal update on it just as soon as I get a chance today or
tomorrow. Please, could you (Denys, Kostja, anybody) direct me to the defect
database; I assume one exists.
