(sorry for the delay but I was at seaside for some holidays)

-3rd try rsh+rshd on the other host on itself
-4th try simple from your system commands like
rsh jimmy notepad
and you should see a new notepad opened and working on the other wks
-5th try rsh+rshd+oz on your system itself with something like
R={New Remote.manager init(host:"localhost")}
-6th try on the remote
-7th if all goes well try the same steps with Win98
